It has come to our attention that several fraudulent emails have been circulated using email spoofing to appear as though they originated from SAEng’s official Secretariat email address, secretariat@saeng.sg, falsely informing recipients that they have been elected as Fellows of the Academy of Engineering, Singapore (SAEng).

SAEng wishes to clarify that Fellowship nominations and elections are conducted strictly in accordance with the Academy’s established eligibility criteria and formal nomination and election process. In particular:

1. Candidate must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.

2. Candidate must have resided in Singapore for a minimum of three (3) consecutive years immediately preceding the nomination.

Candidates who do not meet the above requirements will not be considered.

Members of the public are advised to disregard any unsolicited email claiming that they have been elected as a Fellow of SAEng, particularly where there has been no prior nomination or official communication from the Academy.

SAEng does not appoint or authorize any external agency, intermediary or third party to offer, facilitate or secure Fellowship in exchange for payment.

If you receive a suspicious email claiming to be from SAEng regarding Fellowship, please do not respond, make any payment, or provide personal information.

Please verify the authenticity of such communications through the contact details published on SAEng’s official website (Contact Us).
