Academy of Engineering, Singapore Appoints Prof Ho Teck Hua as New President
Prof Ho Teck Hua has been appointed the President of the Academy of Engineering, Singapore
(SAEng).
Prof Ho is senior deputy president and provost, and Tan Chin Tuan Centennial Professor at National
University of Singapore (NUS). He is also the executive chairman of AI Singapore, a national research
and development programme.

In Singapore, Prof Ho is a member of the boards of the Defence Science and Technology Agency,
DSO National Laboratories, the Government Technology Agency, the National University Health
System, and Greenland Linklogis Group Holdings. He is also a fellow of the Singapore Civil Service
College.
The Academy extends its sincere appreciation to Prof Cham Tao Soon who has stepped down as the SAEng President. A key founding member of the Academy since 2011, Prof Cham served tirelessly to improve the awareness of engineering in society, deliberate on issues related to the engineering profession and promote engineering excellence. Under his leadership, the Academy established five expert groups and pursued nine key projects:
The Academy also grew to more than 130 fellows in the last eleven years.
Prof Cham will be appointed as President Emeritus of SAEng.
